As PHP 5.2 is no longer supported by php.net, we have scheduled major migration to PHP 5.3 which is divided in two waves.
First wave is to install PHP 5.3.6 on all servers in addition to existing PHP 5.2.17. This wave will be completed by the end of the day and won't cause any issues to your scripts. You would be able to test how your scripts perform with the latest PHP. Most of them no issues but should you notice them you may contact us to assist you as PHP 5.2.17 will be kept for compatibility.
You may start using PHP 5.3.6 by adding the following line to your .htaccess: AddType application/x-httpd-php53. php. You may also lock to PHP 5.2.17(So you won't be affected by second step change) by adding the following line to your .htaccess: AddType application/x-httpd-php.php.
The second wave starts on Friday, 12th of August, 2011. During it we will install PHP 5.3.6 as primary PHP version. PHP 4.4.9 and PHP 5.2.17 both will be available as backup versions.
After migrating you as our customer, you will benefit from the features, speed and security of latest PHP technology and as we believe in freedom of choice, you may also use Classic version as well.
